    En este artículo examinamos el tema del autoconocimiento en las letras universales. A partir del precepto délfico γνῶθι σεαυτόν, estudiamos las interpretaciones del apotegma en la literatura y filosofía universales. En este sentido, discurrimos sobre la máxima desde los sentidos ético, social y religioso hasta sus implicaciones filosóficas, psicológicas y lingüísticas en las varias tradiciones culturales que se citan. Planteamos, por último, la posibilidad del autoconocimiento y sugerimos algunas cuestiones para el debate.

    In this article, we examine the self-knowledge topic in the universal letters. From the Delphic rule γνῶθι σεαυτόν, we study the interpretations of the sentence in the universal literature and philosophy. In this sense, we think up on the precept from the ethical, social and religious senses to its philosophical, psychological and linguistic implications in several cultural traditions that are mentioned. We consider, finally, the possibility of the self-knowledge, and we suggest some issues for discussion.
