  • Resumen
    • The Transformative Learning theory of Jack Mezirow contains elements that are important in the teaching of science. The key problem in learning relates to the creation and use of valid meanings to interpret the world. This is done in different ways, only some of which use hypothesis testing and deduction. Instead, learning in other modes, including those affected by interpersonal communication and the view of one's self, are considered. The role of reflective thinking in changing meanings to a more inclusive and valid view is also discussed.
