  • Resumen
    • In JNR, studies on linear motor has been under way since 1962. In studying the mode of inter-city transport for improvement, a conclusion was reached that the superconducting magnetic levitation linear motor propulsion system (repulsive type) is most desirable however hard is the task of technical development called for in many respects.

In 1977 a Miyazaki Levitation-type Railway Testing Center was established. On the test line of 4,7 km there, a tenton vehicle runs under test, levitated 10 cm. Record 347 km/h was already attained. The test line is now under extension to the length of 7 km for further experiments to arraign higher speeds.
