Resumen de Prácticas disciplinares, prácticas escolares: qué son las disciplinas académicas y cómo se relacionan con la educación formal en las ciencias y en las humanidades

  En este artículo analizo la relación entre las disciplinas académicas y la educación en el bachillerato. Conceptualmente, parto de las premisas de la literacidad discplinar como propuesta pedagógica emergente en algunos sistemas educativos, y de la teoría sociocrítica de Basil Bernstein y Karl Maton para caracterizar los discursos de las disciplinas académicas y su relación con el aparato educativo. Estas teorías permiten identificar y describir aspectos medulares de dicha relación, y contribuyen a los debates actuales sobre cómo lograr una mayor vinculación entre estos dos campos sociales. Para ilustrar la teoría de Bernstein y Maton, centro mi atención en la organización curricular de dos asignaturas que forman parte del currículo prescrito del bachillerato en las ciencias (química) y en las humanidades (lengua y literatura), y concluyo con las implicaciones que este análisis ofrece para la enseñanza de la lengua materna en el bachillerato.

  In this article, I analyze the relation between academic disciplines and a high school education. My conceptual starting points are the premises of disciplinary literacy as an emerging pedagogical proposal in some educational systems, and the socio-critical theory of Basil Bernstein and Karl Maton, to characterize the discourses of academic disciplines and their relation with education. Such theories permit identifying and describing central aspects of that relation, and contribute to current debate on how to achieve better links between the two social fields. To illustrate the theory of Berns-tein and Maton, I center my attention on the curricular organization of two subjects that form part of the compulsory high school curriculum for science (chemistry) and the humanities (language and literature). I conclude with the implications that this analysis offers for teaching the native language in high school.
