El presente trabajo trata de resumir las líneas principales de una investigación en curso acerca de las relaciones existentes entre el dinero como símbolo, y por tanto como imagen, y el valor de fe que requiere para ello. Se han tomado como base elementos propios de las sociedades pre-industriales, en este caso las antiguas, sirviendo como paradigma los cambios acontecidos en el ámbito del Imperio Romano.
This paper attempts to summarize the main lines of an ongoing investigation about the relationship between money as a symbol, and therefore as an image, and the value of faith required for this. They have been based on elements of the pre-industrial societies, in this case the ancients, serving as a paradigm of changes occurring in the area of the Roman Empire
