Concentration of 18 metallic elements have been determined by Flame Emission and conventional Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry in 64 samples including most of the D.O. (Denominación de Origen-Certified Brand of Origin) Spanish table wines and many others from different wine growing regions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the importance of major and trace metallic elements in differentiating Spanish wines according to their geographic origins. Differences in elemental concentrations due to wine-making processes and interregional variations were identified.
