  • Resumen
    • Here electrochemical concepts are used to provide a unified discussion on semiconductor photocatalysis. The behavior of irradiated TiO2 particles is analyzed in terms of the chemical role of electrons and holes at the photocatalyst particle/medium interface, the influence of experimental variables, and the dynamics of conjugate chemical reactions undergone by the photogenerated electron-hole pairs. These ideas have relevance to the use of irradiated TiO2 for the treatment of environmental pollutants.
