Resumen de O princípio republicano: aportes para um entendimento sobre o interesse da maioria

  The Principle of Republic as well as Republic are essential categories for understanding the logic of Western juridical ordering. Nevertheless, its concepts are mistaken for other values, like Common Well, Rule of Law or Temporary Elective Mandate, fact that makes it difficult to understand citizenship itself and its exercise. The objective of this article is to appraise and characterise the Republican Principle from the general hypothesis that what is pursued, applying the mentioned principle, is attending to Majority’s Interest, from its definition by democratic instruments. The research about the Principle of Republic is fundamental to law science. The method of research is inductive and the report is deductive. Key words: Republic, constitutional principles, Principle of Republic, majority’s interest.

  Princípio Republicano, assim como República, são categorias fundamentais para se entender a lógica dos ordenamentos jurídicos ocidentais. No entanto, seus conceitos se confundem com outros valores, tais como Bem Comum, Estado de Direito ou Temporalidade de Mandatos Eletivos, e isso dificulta o entendimento da própria condição de cidadania e o seu exercício. O objetivo do presente artigo é conceituar e caracterizar o Princípio Republicano, a partir da hipótese geral de que o objetivo a se perseguir, com a aplicação desse princípio, é o atendimento do Interesse da Maioria, ação que se define mediante instrumentos democráticos. O método de pesquisa é o indutivo e a metodologia da construção do relato é a dedutiva.Palavras-chave: República, princípios constitucionais, Princípio Republicano, Interesse da Maioria.
