  • The term doula derives from greek, and means the woman who is near. Doulas are not sanitary professionals, but women who help the family during and after delivery. Their functions are to give in formation to the couple before delivery, to help the woman during and after delivery, to help the midwife, to promote natural lactation, and to enhance the instinctive capability of baby care that has every woman .
