El patrimonio cultural puede incluir memorias en conflicto basadas en recuerdos y olvidos en el plano individual, colectivo e institucional. Por ello, en el presente articulo, se analiza el papel del patrimonio como vehiculo de la memoria, centrando la atencion en el origen historico y las concepciones actuales sobre el �gYasukuni Jinja�h [�õ���_�Ð] en Japon y el �gValle de los Caidos�h en Espana. Finalmente, se indican algunas potencialidades didacticas de la utilizacion del patrimonio como evocacion de la memoria en la ensenanza de las Ciencias Sociales, Geografia e Historia.
Cultural heritage can include conflicting memories based on remembering and forgetting from the individual, collective and institutional point of view. Therefore, in this article, the role of heritage as a vehicle of memory is analyzed, focusing on the historical origins and the current conceptions about the �gYasukuni Jinja�h [�õ���_�Ð] in Japan and the �gValle de los Caidos�h in Spain. Finally, there are indicated some didactic potentialities about the inclusion of memory and citizenship education in the analysis of heritage in the teaching of Social Sciences, Geography and History.
