We examine the effect of political rhetoric on microloan funding speed. ? Narratives high in rhetoric indicating blame and present concern led to faster funding. ? Narratives indicating accomplishment, tenacity, and variety led to slower funding. ? Post-hoc analysis indicates that innovativeness rhetoric led to slower funding.
