A quarry (Cantacorbs-Miravalls) placed an the surroundings of the Borges Blanques town (Lleida province) allows to study the internal arrangement of a sandstone rock body (ribbon). It corresponds to the distal parts of the Montsant Alluvial Fan system developed mainly during the Oligonce times as a sedimentary response to the coeval tectonic activity at the SE basin border. The channel fill is characterized by the accumualtion of different storeys as a consequence of the hydraulic variations of the discharge and also of sediment supply.
