Resumen de Calidad del agua del río Nexapa: Tendencias espacio-temporales y sus implicaciones

Amado Navarro, Jorge Herrera, Luis Caso, José Luis Marrugo Negrete

  • This study covers the assessment of spatial and temporal variations of water quality of the Nexapariver and somesurface waterflowsassociated with it, bysampling and analysiscampaignsconducted between 1999and 2013. The mainphysical, chemicaland microbiologicalparameters were evaluated, besides the presence of organic pollutants analyzed by gas chromatographycoupled tomass spectrometry, in samples from 11stations locatedalong80 kminthe river upper course. The river isheavilyimpactedby thepollutedwater transfer from the AtoyacRiverto meetirrigation needs, which leads to thedeterioration of its water qualityat the point ofimpact and itssubsequent courseuntil the city of IzúcardeMatamoros. Using analysis of variance and factor analysiswas demonstrated the influenceonthequality parameters and concentration levelsofcontaminants of the dilutionprocessesduring the dryanddiffuse pollutionin the rainy seasons. The WaterQuality Indexshowsa negative trendfrom 1995 to2013. We demonstrate thepossibility of usingorganicmicropollutantsin waterasindicators to assessanthropogenic inputs.
