In order to analyse how the monolingual dictionary Le Petit Robert in its electronic version accounts for the some properties of a class of predicates of Source/Goal Oriented Movement (SGOM), an investigating method is applied, based on the comparison between direct and indirect data about the use of the word retrieved from the word entry and from the whole dictionary text, respectively. The analysis reveals quantitative and qualitative asystematicity in representing the properties and it also questions the role played by certain syntactic markers on an encoding perspective. The electronic format shows how heterogeneous the lexicographic treatment of a semantically homogeneous word class can be and how direct and indirect data about a given predicate happen to be contradictory. Finally we draw the conclusion that given the new format of the dictionary the lexicographic approach to predicative words such as SGOM nouns and verbs should undergo some revision.
