The authors offer opinions on time management by organizations. It is argued that many corporations and organizations do not recognize how much collective time is being wasted by excessive internal communications, such as e-mail messaging, teleconferencing and meetings. An emphasis on time management by individual executives and employees is said to be insufficient to address this problem. Techniques for organizational time management are recommended including creating a more limited agenda, creating a zero-based budget for time spent in internal communication and simplification of organizational structure.
