    El artículo parte de las reflexiones de Miguel Ángel Vega en torno a la traducción como viaje hacia el otro y lo otro en su antología de Textos clásicos de teoría de la traducción y en la colección de literatura de viajes ‘Cómo nos vieron’, de la Ed. Cátedra, para adentrarse después en un recorrido fundamentado en la reflexión de la metáfora la traducción como viaje que pone de manifiesto lo que supone la jubilación de los humanistas para la situación actual y futura de la Historia de la traducción en los Estudios de traducción.

    This article starts with the reflections of Miguel Angel Vega around translation as a journey to the other and beyond in his Anthology of Classic texts of Translation Theory and the collection of Travel Literature “Cómo nos vieron”/”As we were seen"(published by Ed. Cátedra). After that, the article enters in a tour based on the reflection of the metaphor "Trans- lation as a journey", that reveals what would mean the retirement of the Humanists to the cur- rent and future situation of the History of Translation in its Studies.
