    El documento presenta un análisis histórico, de la manera como se ha ido configurando el perfil profesional del docente de la Universidad del Tolima a partir de la Ley 080 de 1980 hasta la nueva reforma iniciada en la Universidad en 2003. El análisis se realiza, tomando como punto de referencia la aplicación de tres normas: la Ley 080 de 1980, la Ley 30 de 1992 que reforma la Educación Superior y la implementación de las competencias en el 2003, mediante el Proyecto Educativo Institucional, y los aspectos particulares a partir de los acuerdos y reglamentos que al interior de la institución han implementado reformas que van transformando las prácticas cotidianas del quehacer docente.

    The document presents a historical analysis of the way how the professional profile of the teachers at Universidad del Tolima has become shaped from the Law 080 of 1980 to the new reform started in the University in 2003. The analysis is carried out, taking as a point of reference the application of three norms: Law 080 of 1980, Law 30 of 1992 that reforms the University Education and the implementation of the competences in 2003 through the Institutional Educational Project, and the particular aspects from the agreements and the regulations that within the institution have implemented reforms that are transforming the daily work as teachers.
