Resumen de Literatura y literatura traducida: entre compromiso social y (re)creación estética

  En el artículo se analiza, a través del ejemplo de la novela Puerto Limón del costarricense Joaquín Gutiérrez así como de la versión alemana de la obra, la aparente disyuntiva entre compromiso social y (re)creación estética del texto literario. El estudio refleja de qué forma el autor y el traductor, cada uno a su manera, han tratado de conciliar el compromiso social con el carácter eminentemente estético que todo texto literario debe reunir para ser considerado como tal. El análisis de la novela, junto con el contraste entre el original y el texto meta, muestran respectivamente los procedimientos empleados por el autor y el traductor destinados a superar la posible incompatibilidad de estas dos finalidades frecuentemente opuestas.

  The article analyses the apparent dilemma between social commitment and aesthetic (re)creation that characterizes both the novel Puerto Limón, written by the Costa Rican Joaquín Gutiérrez, as well as its German translation. The study shows how the author and the translator have tried in their own specific way to reconcile the intended social commitment with the aesthetics of literature. The analysis of the novel and the contrast with the translation reflect the procedures that the author and the translator have used in order to overcome the potential conflict between these two purposes.
