Mouloud Feraoun is a writer hotly contested and highly valued, but it has mostly been misunderstood. We argue that this writer is trying to challenge the colonial model in his own way by insinuating himself into the French cultural system (language and culture) to inscribe the saying of the Other. The modalities of this suggestion are essentially the ostentatious use of the realistic model, the "trompe l'oeil", the literary and the school wigs.
