Con este trabajo los autores tratan de ofrecer una aproximación al rol del profesorado universitario, en un contexto de cambio, como una de las partes implicadas en la obtención de una mejora en la calidad de la enseñanza. En el momento actual se abre una vía de estudio sobre cómo ha de ser la dedicación del profesorado para lograr incrementar la calidad de la docencia en la institución universitaria, en aspectos como el contenido y tiempo de dedicación. Siendo también necesario definir el perfil profesional del profesorado universitario, atendiendo así a las nuevas necesidades formativas que surgen en este colectivo.

With this work the authors try to offer an approximation the role of the university faculty, in a context of change, as one of the parts implied in the obtaining of an improvement in the quality of the teaching. At the present moment a way of study is opened on how should be the dedication of the faculty to manage to increase the quality of the teaching in the university institution, in aspects as the content and time of dedication. Being also necessary to define the professional profile of the university faculty, attending thus to the new formative needs that arise in this collective one.
