La Universidad a análisis: las voces del alumnado con discapacidad

    En este artículo se presentan los resultados parciales de un estudio en curso 1 que tiene el propósito de analizar las barreras y ayudas que los estudiantes con discapacidad identifican en la Universidad como institución y en las aulas. Esta investigación, que está siendo desarrollada por un equipo interdisciplinar de profesorado de la Universidad de Sevilla, pretende dar voz al alumnado, a través de los métodos biográficos-narrativos para, en última instancia, promover acciones de mejora para este colectivo. En este trabajo, nos centramos únicamente en el análisis de las barreras y ayudas referidas a la Institución. De este modo, a través de los resultados podremos conocer desde la perspectiva de este alumnado qué elementos de la Universidad han actuado como facilitadores, o al contrario, como obstáculos. Concretamente, los resultados se han organizado por áreas de conocimiento y en torno a tres temáticas: cuestiones generales de la Universidad, servicio de atención al alumnado con discapacidad e infraestructuras y barreras arquitectónicas.

    This study provides partial findings from research currently underway 1 at the University of Seville. The aim of the project is to shed light on barriers and aids, both in the University as an institution and in the lecture halls, as perceived by the disabled students themselves. This research is being developed by a multidisciplinary team from the University of Seville, whose main objective is to provide disabled students with a voice of their own by means of BNIM biographic-narrative research methods, in order, at a later stage of the research, to promote improvements for these students. This paper deals solely with the analysis of those barriers and aids that the students have identified as related to the University as an institution. The analysis of the results, therefore, will enable the identification of those items of the University which act as a help or as a hurdle. Specifically, the results have been organized into subject areas and are based on three topics: general University issues, assistance for disabled students, and infrastructures and architectonic barriers.
