Increasingly, hospitality educators are asked to serve as expert witnesses. Intricate technical knowledge is occasionally called for, while most cases have a rather mundane and straightforward core. Hospitality educators' integrity, a primary value as expert witness, can be impugned if deliberations are not careful. Most cases could have been avoided if the hospitality establishments in question had trained their staff in and required them to follow responsible business practices. Several examples are included
