Resumen de Convivencia escolar y diversidad cultural. Estudio cuantitativo sobre la opinión de los miembros de la comunidad educativa

  La convivencia escolar ha sido fruto de numerosas investigaciones dada su complejidad (Jimerson & Furlong, 2006; UNESCO, 2004) y la necesidad de establecer programas de intervención psicoeducativa que la favorezcan (Díaz- Aguado, 2005). Uno de los elementos que configura la realidad actual en las aulas es la diversidad cultural, siendo importante determinar en qué medida se concibe como un elemento que facilita u obstaculiza la convivencia. En el presente trabajo se describe una investigación, de naturaleza cuantitativa, cuyo objetivo principal es analizar la convivencia escolar derivada de la diversidad cultural, según la opinión de los diferentes miembros que integran la comunidad escolar, en diferentes centros de educación primaria y secundaria. Para ello, participaron un total de 760 sujetos que contestaron, en los cursos escolares 2003/2004 y 2009/2010, a una serie de entrevistas destinadas al alumnado, familia, profesorado, equipo directivo y personal de administración.   Living together in school has been the subject of numerous investigations, given its complexity (Jimerson & Furlong, 2006; UNESCO, 2004), and in view of the need to devise psycho-educational training programmes that will favour it (Díaz- Aguado, 2005). Cultural diversity is part of the current reality of the classroom, and it is important to determine to what extent people conceive it as something that may facilitate or impede living together at school. The present study describes an investigation, which was quantitative in nature, whose main aim was to analyze living together in school from the perspective of cultural diversity, as evinced by the opinions of the different members of several primary and secondary school communities. To this end, in the school years 2003/2004 and 2009/2010, a total of 760 participants responded to a series of interviews devised for the students, for the parents, for the teachers, for the administrators, and for the secretarial and maintenance personnel. 753 interviews were apt for the quantitative study.
