Cambios curriculares y la opinion de los estudiantes del programa de enfermería

    El presente estudio tuvo como finalidad determinar la opinión sobre los cambios curriculares de la carrera Licenciatura en Enfermería desde la perspectiva de los estudiantes y el personal docente de la Universidad Centroccidental �Lisandro Alvarado� (UCLA) durante el período Julio-Diciembre 2009. El estudio realizado fue de campo tipo Descriptivo con diseño Transversal. La población en estudio estuvo constituida por estudiantes del VI, VII, VIII y IX semestre de la carrera de Licenciatura en Enfermería, además del personal docente que conforma la Sección de Comunitaria y la Comisión Curricular del Departamento de Enfermería. Se realizó un muestreo probabilístico estratificado, tomando de cada estrato un 30% de la totalidad de individuos que lo conforman, totalizando una muestra de 68 individuos conformada por 85,3% estudiantes y 14,7% docentes. El instrumento fue un cuestionario con 16 preguntas cerradas, politómicas, de opciones múltiples y respuesta única. Se encontró que existe una total factibilidad y viabilidad administrativa, curricular y metodológica para aprobar la eliminación del X semestre de la carrera, basándose en resultados que afirman que el cursar el X semestre genera gastos adicionales para la universidad, el docente, y el estudiante, incluyendo gastos por transporte y acondiciona miento de espacios físicos. Existe la viabilidad de reestructurar el pensum académico reorganizando los objetivos y los docentes dentro del plan de estudio de las asignaturas que conforman la sección comunitaria.

    This study aimed to determine the opinion about the elimination of the tenth semester of the nursing program from the perspective of students and teaching staff of the University Centroccidental "Lisandro Alvarado" for the period July-December 2009. The field study was descriptive with cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of students of sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth semester of the nursing program in addition to the teachers that make up the Community Section and the Curriculum Committee, Department of Nursing.

    We conducted a stratified probability sampling;

    each stratum taking 30% of all individuals who made it up, totaling a sample of 68 individuals comprised by 85.3% students and 14.7% teachers. The instrument used to collect data was a questionnaire with 16-closed, polytomous, multiple-choice questions and single answer. It was found that there is a complete feasibility and administrative, curricular and methodological viability to approve the elimination of the tenth semester, based on the results that said that to take the ten semester generates additional costs for the University, the teacher and student, including transportation costs and physical space conditioning. There is the feasibility of reorganizing academic pensum by reorganizing the curricular objectives and teachers within the curriculum of the courses that make up the Community Section. The students obtain a great variety of benefits like the shortening of the career with the same UCLA professional quality
