  • Since the end of the 19th century until now, the Egyptian law, whose principal source is the Code Napoléon, has been closely related to the French law. On this basis, the translator of legal texts, and particularly juridictional texts, is likeky to make infortunate confusions. A reason for this is that the Egyptian and French systems have evolved differently according to their specific cultural and historical contexts. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate that the translations in this field must absolutely be based on a deep knowledge of both systems.
