Resumen de Using stories to stimulate student creativity and speaking skills: three ancient tales in search of an ending

David Shea

  • The use of stories in EFL teaching is a sound, time-honored practice. Here three examples of traditional tales are offered which may be developed in the classroom and beyond. Students are encouraged to work in pairs or small groups to come up with their own endings for these Arabian Nights-style stories. They may also find it interesting to work with other tales from their own country's folk tradition which could translate easily into English
