  • Resumen
    • This work extends comparative studies in children affected by Cerebral Palsy and non-affected children. The aim of this research is to examine the role of action in mental imagery processes in 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10 year-old able children. A mental rotation task was presented to the children. In one group, children handle the experimental device ; in the other group, the device was handled by the experimenter. The results suggest that action supports mental imagery processes at least until the age of 9-10 years. Mental imagery becomes independent from the concrete world about 9-10 years old, when a dynamic and flexible spatial thought is available to children.
