Razonamiento metafórico del conocimiento científico

    Uno de los problemas que afecta a la comunidad estudiantil en todos los niveles educativos es la defi ciente captación del lenguaje científi co. Con el propósito de encontrar una vía para solventar esa situación, se investigó si el lenguaje coloquial-tradicional, en particular la metáfora, podría ser un puente para acercar a los estudiantes a la conceptuación científi ca vigente. La estructura de una matriz metafórica surgida al destacar aspectos de un fl uido (SUSTANCIA) entrando a diferentes envases (OBJETO) se utilizó para explicar y dar a comprender el desarrollo de un concepto científi co: el concepto Calor desde la perspectiva de la Física. Las categorías o dimensiones proporcionadas por esta matriz resultaron ser las mismas que utiliza la Física para estudiar los fenómenos, aunque éstos sean referidos como una sustancia concreta (Ej. el concepto Fluido Calórico), o como una sustancia abstracta, una entidad o una magnitud (Ej. el concepto Energía).

    METAPHORICAL REASONING OF SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE One of the central problems that affect students at any level is the defi cient grasp of scientifi c language.

    Aiming at fi nding a means to solve this problem, a research was conducted in order to determine if colloquial- traditional language, particularly the metaphor, could be a bridge for bringing students closer to the current scientifi c concepts. A metaphorical matrix structure arisen from emphasizing aspects of a fl uid (SUBSTANCE) coming into different containers (OBJECT) was used in order to explain and try to make them understand the analysis of the scientifi c concept: the concept of �heat�, from the physics point of view.

    The categories or proportionate dimensions by this matrix were equivalent to those used by Physics for studying different phenomena, although these ones are considered a concrete substance (e.g. the concept of Caloric Fluid), or as an abstract substance, an entity, or a magnitude (e.g. the concept of Energy).

    RAISONNEMENT METAPHORIQUE DU SAVOIR SCIENTIFIQUE Un des problèmes qui affecte la communauté étudiante dans tous les niveaux éducatifs est celui de la compréhension du langage scientifi que. Afi n de résoudre ce problème, nous avons étudié si le langage colloquial - traditionnel, particulièrement la métaphore, pourrait être un moyen pour conduire les étudiants à la conceptualisation scientifi que actuelle. La structure d�une matrice métaphorique à été utilisée pour expliquer et faire comprendre le développement d�un concept scientifi que: celui de chaleur à partir d�une perspective de la Physique, cette matrice a été obtenue de la mise en valeur d�un fl uide (SUBSTANCE) occupant des récipients différents (OBJETS). Les catégories ou dimensions fournies par cette matrice ont fi ni par être les mêmes utilisées par la Physique dans l�étude des phénomènes, même si ceux-ci sont connus comme une substance concrète (ex. Le concept Fluide Calorique), ou comme une substance abstraite, une entité ou une magnitude (ex. Le concept d�Énergie).
