Entre el profesorado es frecuente pensar que para enseñar una disciplina basta con conocerla y tener cierta experiencia docente. En este trabajo se destaca la importancia de conocer las teorías sobre el aprendizaje, no sólo porque nos ayudan diseñar mejor el trabajo en el aula, sino también porque es una condición necesaria para el avance colectivo de la enseñanza.

It is frequent to find teachers who believe that teaching is all about knowledge of the subject or teaching practice and having some teaching experience. However, it is very important to know about the theory (or theories) of teaching too, not only because it helps us to prepare classroom work better but also because it is a necessary pre-requisite for the development of teaching in general.
