Óvila, seventy years after (...it was plundered). The many events undergone by the Cistercian monastery of Óvila, which was bought piecemeal and taken to the United States to form part of the private collection of and American tycoon, are the excuse behind this profound reflection about the sorry fate of many Spanish monuments. The monastery, dismantled and stored in crates, was never reassembled. Only now do the wanderings of this monastery seem to be reaching their end, since anastylosis works have been initiated in the United States by a team of experts, one of whom is the author of this entertaining tale.
