    La prensa contribuyó decisivamente en la penetración de la ideología liberal y en la instrucción política de las clases agrícolas y urbanas del siglo XIX en España. El presente estudio se centra en un periódico de provincias que combatió con valentía al Gobierno ya la élite política dominante. Un periódico que se autotitula democrático y portavoz del malestar y del descontento social que acabó con la Regencia del general Espartero. Sufrió sanciones y denuncias ante el temido jurado de imprenta. Finalmente, fue suspendido por el delegado gubernativo.

    Press contributed decisively to the entrance of liberal ideology and in the political instruction of country and city people in the 19th century in Spain. This study is focussed on a humble provincial newspaper which bravely fought the Government and the political elite of that moment. A newspaper which considers itself democratic and mouthpiece of the unrest and social dissatisfaction which ended with the Regency of General Espartero. This newspaper suffered sanctions and had to appear before the much hated "print jury". Finally, it was closed by the Government local representative.
