  • Resumen
    • Doña Luisa de Carvajal was a Spanish lady who, from the religious point of view, was in close contact with England. When she lived in Valladolid her house was next door to St. Alban's College. In 1605 she moved to London where she devoted her life to helping and attending English priests and laymen who were in prison because of their Catholic beliefs. The author of this article deals with her efforts and trials in this enterprise: she was threatened and pursued by political and Anglican authorities. All this caused serious diplomatic crises between the Spanish Ambassador and king James I.
