Spain has been one of the leaders of FDI activity during the last decade, only preceded by the US, UK, Belgium/Luxembourg, France, Holland and Germany.Although the bulk of this activity took place in the EU, the remarkable process of internacionalization has been especially visible in Latin America, where it has hadoutstanding consequences, both from the economic and the foreign policy's point of view. This impressive process of internacionalization, whose theoretical foundations are reviewed in this article, has as its main missing subject a relevant investing process in China and India, the "new economic frontier" of the world.
