  • Resumen
    • This paper deals with the question of the realtionship beween translation and interculturality. The scope of the article is double, theoretical and pratical. For the theoretical approach, we analyze mainly the ideas on culturality and translation developed by authors such s Walter Benjamin, Paul de Man and Carol Jacobs; for the practical approach, we study L'Ex-père de la nation, one of Aminata Sow Fall's works. The paper accounts the difficulties of rendering literary texts culturally "remote", and that is precisely the purpose of the analysis of a work by an African (Senegalese) female writter. The potential translator of L'Ex-père de la nation would have to consider, according to Benjamin, De Man and Jacob's ideologies, aspects as controversial as the gender of the text, the diverse peculiarities of the mode of intention of the language and the elegibility of the translation of the chosen literary work, among others. These and other aspects found in the potencia translation of L'Ex-père de la nation are analyzed in this paper.
