  • Resumen
    • The anide begins by posing the old question whether Bias must be qualified as a judge or rather as an arbiter. Then, the context of the legend of the Seven Wise Men is briefly alluded to, and Bias' role in the political life of Priene is stated with the aid of a text from Plutarch and a couple of inscri ptions. Lastly, the author discusses the attitude of Heraclitus towards Bias and the controversy between the ideals of active vs. contemplative life, in order to ascertain the image of Bias as a traditional Sage.
