Adaptive learning is a technology-mediated pedagogical strategy that dynamically adjusts content, sequence, and activity difficulty levels based on each student's real performance. This study evaluated the impact of a sixteen-week adaptive learning intervention on academic achievement and motivation in mathematics and physics among 187 high school students from the province of Tungurahua, Ecuador, during the 2025-2026 school year. Using a quasi-experimental design with an experimental group (n = 94) and a control group (n = 93), academic performance and five motivational dimensions were compared before and after the intervention. The experimental group improved its performance by 45.8%, compared to 6.7% for the control group. Perceived self-efficacy increased by 67.0% and mathematics anxiety decreased by 44.2% in the experimental group. The findings support the conclusion that adaptive learning is a viable and effective strategy for transforming achievement and motivation in exact sciences within the Ecuadorian educational context.
