  • Resumen
    • Since the murder of George Floyd in 2020 and the exposure of long-standing racial inequities brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been heightened scrutiny on the teaching profession and enhanced interest in how teacher leaders are leading during difficult sociopolitical times. We situate this chapter within this current sociopolitical education environment in the United States. Specifically, we examine values communicated in the Teacher Leader Model (TLM) Standards used in the United States and offer suggestions for how the Standards might be revised to address education in the United States today. We conclude with implications for a revision of the standards that would address current issues in teacher leadership (TL) like equity and teacherpreneurship.
