  • Resumen
    • Critical teacher leadership (CTL) provides a theoretical framework for describing teacher leadership for social justice. CTL draws on critical pedagogy and democratic and ethical leadership to describe the practices of teachers who advocate with and for students who are traditionally marginalized. In this chapter, we demonstrate how CTL may be used as a theoretical framework to describe the ways that teacher leaders pursue social justice in their work with immigrant students of color. Furthermore, we suggest that CTL practice may be enhanced when teacher leaders apply a lens of critical race theory to their advocacy with and for immigrant students of color.
