Psicología y sociopatía según Michel Foucault

    Revisando a Foucault a los veinte años de su desaparición, recordamos que la psicología y la antropología no pueden soslayar, ni en su tarea investigadora ni, en su caso, en la práctica clínica, las limitaciones impuestas por la difícil distinción entre psicopatía y sociopatía, por un lado, ni, por otro, las condiciones históricas (sean arqueológicas o genealógicas) desde las cuales se establecen los límites del sujeto moderno.

    Foucault muestra que una concepción del hombre es producto de categorías históricas y sistemas de poder determinados, que es preciso desvelar y que configuran un conjunto de prácticas como “normales”, básicas para establecer un prototipo que a su vez produce exclusiones como, por ejemplo, la enfermedad. Hay una historia, por tanto, de la exclusión del otro, paralela a la de la configuración del “hombre normal”, que, en nuestros días, se plasma en la disciplina, el saber y la verdad modelo, y que da lugar tanto a sistemas teóricos como a instituciones.

    Looking over Foucault, twenty years after his disappearance, we remember that Psicology and Anthropology cannot get round, neither on their research task, nor clinic practice, in its case, the limitations imposed by the hard differentiation on the one hand between “Psicopathy” and “Sociopathy”, and on the other hand, the historical background (archaeological or genealogical), which serves to establish the limits of the modern subject. Foucault shows that a conception of the man is a product of historical categories and some systems of power, which is necessary to clarify and that forms a set of practices as “regular ones”, basic to establish a prototype which can produce exclusions like, i.e., the sickness. There is a history then, about the exclusion of the other, that is parallel to the one about the configuration of “the regular man”, which nowadays is embodied in the discipline, the knowledge, and the model truth, which also gives place to both theoretical systems and institutions.
