    • The ECCElSA research project, developed by the University of Naples “Federico II” in collaboration with Lamieredil S.p.A., addresses current trends in construction emphasizing safety and sustainability. The project focused on Lightweight Systems (LWS), integrating both seismic and thermal performance innovations. Structurally, it introduced an advanced bracing system made with Ultra-High Strength (UHS) steel to enhance seismic resistance. Thermally, it involved selecting and analyzing insulating materials—rigid and flexible panels—to reduce energy demand. These elements were integrated into optimized wall and slab stratigraphy. To validate the proposed solutions, a two-story prototype building was constructed using dry-assembly methods. The building design relied on digital fabrication and prototyping techniques to improve efficiency and minimize material waste. The project demonstrates a holistic approach to sustainable construction, combining cutting-edge materials and digital processes. The paper presents an in-depth account of the design, production, and erection phases, highlighting the innovative solutions developed for structural and energy performance.
