Os verbos botar e colocar no falar de Fortaleza-CE

    Based on the variationist sociolinguistics (WEINREICH; LABOV; HERZOG 2006 [1968]; LABOV, 2008 [1972]), this research addresses the variation in the use of the verbs botar and colocar, in the sense of introducing an object/person, putting in, to insert, to take and to swallow, in sample of the popular speech of Fortaleza - CE. Our goal is to analyze the performance of linguistic and/or extra-linguistic factors on the realization of the verbs botar and colocar. For that, we selected 72 Diálogo Entre Informante e Documentador (DID) surveys from the Norma Oral do Português Popular de Fortaleza Project (NORPOFOR). With the aid of the GoldVarb X statistical analysis program, we studied a total of 846 occurrences of the verbs under analysis. Of the total number of cases, GoldVarb X showed that the verb botar is used much more frequently (84%) than the verb colocar (16%). In addition, the results indicate that the daily factor, of the discursive topic variable, conditions the realization of the verb botar in occurrence with colocar. From these results, we conclude that, in the sample of this research, the verbs botar and colocar are used by the informants to a greater or lesser extent and are properly conditioned by a variable external to the linguistic system, that is, by the discursive topic.

    Com base na Sociolinguística variacionista (WEINREICH; LABOV; HERZOG 2006 [1968]; LABOV, 2008 [1972]), esta pesquisa aborda a variação no uso dos verbos botar e colocar, no sentido de introduzir um objeto/pessoa, pôr dentro, enfiar, meter, inserir, tomar e engolir, em amostra do falar popular de Fortaleza – CE. Nosso objetivo é analisar a atuação de fatores linguísticos e/ou extralinguísticos sobre a realização dos verbos botar e colocar. Para tanto, selecionamos 72 inquéritos do tipo Diálogo entre Informante e Documentador (DID) provenientes do Projeto Norma Oral do Português Popular de Fortaleza (NORPOFOR). Com o auxílio do programa de análises estatísticas GoldVarb X, estudamos um total de 846 ocorrências dos verbos em análise. Do número total de casos, o GoldVarb X mostrou que o verbo botar é usado com uma frequência maior (84%) que o verbo colocar (16%). Além disso, os resultados indicam que o fator cotidiano, da variável tópico discursivo, condiciona a realização do verbo botar em ocorrência com colocar. A partir desses resultados, concluímos que, na amostra desta pesquisa, os verbos botar e colocar são usados pelos informantes em maior ou menor proporção e são devidamente condicionados por uma variável externa ao sistema linguístico, isto é, pelo tópico discursivo.
