The study deals with the "images-woman" plays which worked in the process of (de)legitimation of Dilma Rousseff in cartoons in the digital network and the theoretical and methodological framework is the French Discourse Analysis based on the work of Michel Pêcheux. The problem that guides the analysis is how images about women produce meanings which sometimes reproduce and sometimes change themselves, and are therefore the representation of Dilma Rousseff. The main purpose of this article is to analyze, through the work of memory, how the imaginary about the woman and the visual representations of Dilma as a female figure may work in her (de)legitimation as a political subject. To do so, it uses as analysis material two cartoons that circulated on the digital network, one in 2010 and another in 2015, and the analytic movement of these “images-woman” is performed through the work of discursive memory. The results show that the delegitimization sense works linked to feminine field questions, thus enabling that meaning effects sustains itself by the male chauvinism discursive memory, consolidated in society.
