Ensino-aprendizagem de inglês em contexto de privação de liberdade: efeito de suspensão

    This paper aims at analyzing the formation of the Effect of Suspension which stagnates the actions, the discursive positions and the relationships within the confusing space of the teaching-learning of English in a juvenile detention center. In order to do so, excerpts from an English class and from some participants’ interviews are analyzed. The study is carried out under the discourse analysis research method and a structural mapping of the lesson. The analysis points out an intriguing conflict between meanings related to the educational issues and meanings related to the incarceration issues, outlining a confusing space for the English teaching-learning from which emerges the Effect of Suspension.

    O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a formação do efeito de suspensão, que estagna ações, posições discursivas e relações, no confuso espaço do ensino-aprendizagem do inglês, em uma unidade socioeducativa para adolescentes em conflito com a lei. Para tanto, serão analisados excertos de uma aula de inglês na unidade, além de trechos de entrevistas realizadas pelos participantes. A metodologia utilizada é a análise de discurso e mapeamento estrutural da aula. A análise aponta um movimento conflitante em torno do que pertence à ordem educacional e à ordem do encarceramento, delineando um espaço confuso para o ensino-aprendizagem da língua inglesa, dentro do qual emerge o efeito de suspensão.
