Debemos pensar el legado colonial africano de España no sólo en términos de qué queda en España de la pasada experiencia colonial en África, sino teniendo en cuenta, también, cómo condicionó la presencia española las sociedades africanas. La realidad colonial es profundamente asimétrica, y por ello la marca hispana en África puede ser mucho más profunda que la marca africana en España.

We must think about Spain’s African colonial legacy not only in terms of what remains in Spain from the past colonial experience in Africa, but also considering how the Spanish presence conditioned African societies.The colonial reality is deeply asymmetric, and therefore the Hispanic print cast in Africa might be much deeper than the African's one in Spain.
