    “El libro-álbum es un arte multimodal, un “objeto cultural”, en el cual la imagen se combina con el texto creando una propuesta visual y artística diferente a partir de la interrelación de los lenguajes” (Silva-Díaz, 2002; Arizpe, 2002; Colomer, 1998). Todo libro álbum potencia la imaginación, la creatividad y el sentido crítico ya que palabra e imagen van de la mano a destiempo, invitando al lector a tomar un rol activo y llenar de sentido los silencios, ejercicio que favorece la lectura de textos e imágenes que presenta la realidad circundante. Esta presentación trata sobre el libro álbum en la infancia, en la escuela y en la Patagonia argentina. Narra además experiencias educativas que abarcan creaciones artístico-literarias y plásticas realizadas por estudiantes con sus docentes de forma interdisciplinaria en escuelas primarias públicas y privadas, de los ámbitos urbanos y rurales de la comunidad mapuche en la Patagonia argentina a partir de un recorrido por libros-álbum escritos, diseñados y publicados en dicha zona.

    “The album-book is a multimodal piece of art, a “cultural object, in which image and text are combined creating a different visual and artistic approach from the interrelation of languages” (Silva-Diaz, 2002; Arizpe, 2002; Colomer, 1998). Every album-book empowers the imagination, the creativity and the critical sense due to the fact that word and image engage at different times, inviting the reader to take an active role and to fill in silence with sense. This exercise benefits the reading of texts and images that the surrounding reality presents. This presentation deals with album-book in childhood, at schools and in Argentine Patagonia. It also narrates experiences in education that include artistic-literary creations done by students with their teachers in an interdisciplinary way in Primary public and private schools, from urban and rural areas in a mapuche community in the Argentine Patagonia using album-books written, designed and published in this region.
