La construcción de masculinidades desde el uso del vestuario en una escuela agrotécnica de varones de la provincia de Buenos Aires (Argentina, 1984-2018)

    Analizamos el modo en el que el uso común de las duchas contribuyó a la construcción y resistencia de masculinidades en una escuela agrotécnica de la provincia de Buenos Aires dependiente de una Universidad estatal, entre los años 1984 y 2018. Proponemos el análisis de un caso único desde una lógica cualitativa y realizamos entrevistas semi estructuras a numerosos actores institucionales. Concluimos que esta práctica estructuró y representó simbólicamente el modo en el que se pretendió construir hombres en el colegio en cuestión, ligado a la heteronormatividad, la superación constante de pruebas, la obligación de adaptarse a la institución y el respecto al pacto grupal, entre otras características propuestas desde la institución. Condensó sentidos morales, estéticos, eróticos, sexo-genéricos e higiénicos en permanente disputa. El espacio del vestuario funcionó como un lugar de regulación de los cuerpos que exigía un desempeño masculino, pero que posibilitó resistencias y fugas de sentido. Se pretende realizar un aporte al análisis del papel cumplido por las instituciones educativas en el proceso de construcción de masculinidades en el ámbito de la provincia de Buenos Aires en un marco del resquebrajamiento de los mandatos de una masculinidad tradicional hacia fines del siglo XX y principios del XXI.

    We analyze the way in which the common use of showers contributed to the construction, and resistance, of masculinities in an agrotechnical school in the province of Buenos Aires dependent on a state University, between the years 1984 and 2018.

    We propose the analysis of a single case from a qualitative logic and we conduct semi-structured interviews with numerous institutional actors. We conclude that this practice structured and symbolically represented the way in which it was intended to build men in the school in question, linked to heteronormativity, the constant overcoming of tests, the obligation to adapt to the institution and respect for the group pact, among other characteristics proposed by the institution. It condensed moral, aesthetic, erotic, sex-generic and hygienic senses in permanent dispute. The locker room space functioned as a place of regulation of bodies that required masculine performance, but which enabled resistance and escapes of meaning. It is intended to make a contribution to the analysis of the role played by educational institutions in the process of construction of masculinities in the province of Buenos Aires within a framework of the cracking of the mandates of traditional masculinity towards the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st
