    En los últimos años se está utilizando con más frecuencia la técnica de hemisección y resección radicular, como un intento de conservar dientes multirradiculares con afectación de la furcación. Se presenta el caso de un paciente que tenía desestructuración de la hemiarcada mandibular izquierda por impactación de un cordal sobre la raíz distal del molar 3.7, y ausencia del molar 3.6. Es de importancia fundamental, a la hora de aplicar esta técnica, estudiar minuciosamente cada caso, planteando los objetivos del tratamiento y valorando las posibles contraindicaciones que podrían hacer fracasar el mismo. Se explican las fases necesarias para realizar una hemisección con resección de la raíz distal del molar 3.7 y una posterior restitución protética con un interlock.

    The use of radicular hemisection and resection in multirooted teeth, with furcation problems has increased in the last years.

    We presenta clinical case in which an impactation ofthe third molar over the distal rooth ofthe 3.7 ofthe 3.6, causes desestructuration of the left mandibular hemiarch. lt' s vey important to do a rigurous and individualized study of the case, to stablish the objectives and contraindications. We explain the treatrnent phases in the realisation of hemisection and resection of the distal rooth of 3.7 and the posterior prosthetic restauration with an interlock.
