Resumen
- Upon reading my article “Extant Time Balls Around the World,”1 my colleagues were quick to point out that I made a mathematical error in the smartphone activity. I had reported that at 1:53 p.m. daylight savings time (12:53 p.m. standard time) in Los Angeles, it was 4:53 p.m. in Greenwich, England. I then subtracted 4:53 from 12:53 to get an 8-hour time difference, which ultimately led to a correct result for longitude.
