Habilidades digitales en alumnos de nivel superior

    La tecnología forma parte de la vida cotidiana, permitiendo la aparición de la llamada sociedad del conocimiento, los alumnos de educación superior son profesionistas en formación que deben de contar con las habilidades digitales necesarias para el uso y aprovechamiento de los recursos tecnológicos, lo cual les permita atender de manera efectiva las exigencias de su entorno, la vida y el trabajo, se requiere de datos que brinden al ámbito educativo un diagnóstico de las habilidades con que cuentan los alumnos, para al largo plazo implementar estrategias de intervención efectivas, por tal motivo  el objetivo de este trabajo fue describir las habilidades digitales de alumnos de nivel superior. Se contó con una metodología cuantitativa con un alcance descriptivo y un diseño transversal. La muestra estuvo constituida por 230 alumnos pertenecientes a una institución privada de nivel superior del Estado de México, cuyas edades oscilaron entre 18 a 24 años. El instrumento que se utilizó para la medición se trata de la Encuesta sobre Habilidades Digitales, dicho instrumento cuenta con índices adecuados de fiabilidad y validez, probados en población mexicana; contando con 30 ítems y está conformado por cuatro subescalas: manejo de información, comunicación, manejo de tecnología portátil y organización. Para examinar los resultados se realizaron análisis estadísticos descriptivos e inferenciales, que permitieron identificar las características de la población y buscar diferencias respecto a las habilidades digitales entre grupos. Las conclusiones del estudio están encaminadas a responder a la pregunta de investigación y objetivos planteados. Los resultados se discutieron con base a literatura científica reciente.

    Technology is part of everyday life, enabling the development of a knowledge-based society, students in higher education are professionals in training who must have the digital skills necessary for using and exploiting technological resources, which allows them to meet effectively the demands of their environment, life and work, data is needed to provide the educational environment with a diagnosis of the skills of pupils, in order to implement effective intervention strategies in the long term, The aim of this study was therefore to describe the digital skills of higher education students. The methodology was quantitative, with a descriptive scope and cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 230 students from a private higher education institution in the State of Mexico, whose ages ranged between 18 and 24 years. The instrument used for the measurement is the Digital Skills Survey, which has adequate reliability and validity indices, tested in the Mexican population; it has 30 items and is made up of four subscales: Information management, communication, portable technology and organization. To examine the results, descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were performed, which allowed identifying the characteristics of the population and looking for differences in digital skills between groups. The conclusions of the study are intended to answer the research question and objectives set. The results were discussed based on recent scientific literature.
