    Esta investigación plantea estudiar la deserción de los estudiantes de la Licenciatura en Geología Ambiental y Recursos Hídricos de la cohorte 2019, como un aspecto de las trayectorias escolares. El interés por realizar este trabajo se basa en dimensionar el problema de porque muchos estudiantes abandonan la carrera en los primeros semestres. El objetivo es generar información que muestre cuales son las causas que provocan la deserción escolar, identificando los factores que inciden en el fenómeno. Los aportes teóricos en que se fundamenta comprenden diseños teóricos de las perspectivas sociológica, psicológica y económica y se trata de una indagación sobre las relaciones entre el sujeto y la institución, por ello se recabo información mediante la aplicación una encuesta, el análisis documental lo que derivó en establecer un diagnóstico de los alumnos matriculados en 2019, del Plan reestructurado. El análisis contiene variables específicas que dan cuenta del comportamiento escolar, poniendo énfasis en las características académicas institucionales y de servicios, así como en el aspecto sociodemográfico, trayectoria escolar previa; la trayectoria en la Facultad; los hábitos de estudio; condiciones socioeconómicas y materiales. Con ello se investiga mediante la aplicación de una metodología cualitativa. Dicha información se procesó de manera descriptiva y se obtuvo como resultado que lso aspectos que más inciden en la deserción es el aspecto educativo, la carrera no es lo esperado, seguido del económico y la metodología de aprendizaje del alumno, por ello es importante atender esta temática que es común en todos los ámbitos educativos.

    This research proposes to study the dropout of students of the Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Geology and Water Resources of the 2019 cohort, as an aspect of school trajectories. The interest in carrying out this work is based on dimensioning the problem of why many students drop out of the degree in the first semesters. The objective is to generate information that shows what are the causes that cause school dropout, identifying the factors that affect the phenomenon. The theoretical contributions on which it is based include theoretical designs of the sociological, psychological and economic perspectives and it is an inquiry into the relationships between the subject and the institution, for this reason information was collected through the application of a survey, documentary analysis which resulted in establishing a diagnosis of the students enrolled in 2019, of the restructured Plan. The analysis contains specific variables that account for school behavior, emphasizing the academic, institutional and service characteristics, as well as the sociodemographic aspect, previous school trajectory; the trajectory in the Faculty; study habits; socioeconomic and material conditions. With this, research is carried out through the application of a qualitative methodology. This information was processed in a descriptive way and it was obtained as a result that the aspects that most affect dropout are the educational aspect, the career is not what is expected, followed by the economic and the student's learning methodology, so it is important to address this issue that is common in all educational areas.
